The Dell Pro Thunderbolt 4 Smart Dock (SD25TB4) is a high-performance dock designed to deliver up to 130W of power delivery to Dell systems (and up to 96W to non-Dell systems). It supports up to four external monitors and features enterprise-grade IT management over Wi-Fi, advanced security, and 2.5 GbE Ethernet networking.
Operating System Compatibility
Windows (10/11): Provides the most seamless experience, allowing for multi-stream transport (MST) to drive up to four monitors, remote IT management, and dock power button synchronization.
macOS: Compatible, but with some limitations. Apple hosts do not natively support MST (Extended Desktop mode) over multi-port docks unless you use specific workarounds, and the dock’s power button will only wake the Mac if you have an active Dell system.
Ubuntu & Chrome OS: Supported, but specific enterprise features may vary.
Hardware Requirements & Performance
Monitors: Can support up to four external displays (exact resolutions depend on the host's graphics capabilities) using the two DisplayPort 1.4, one HDMI 2.1, and Thunderbolt 4 ports.
Compatibility with Other Brands: Works with non-Dell laptops that feature Thunderbolt or USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode, though power delivery maxes out at 96W.
